Redirect Service
The Universal Resolver supports a DID-based redirect service when the service
and optionally relativeRef
DID parameter(s) are present, and if an Accept
header with value text/html
is sent.
This feature can be useful for resolving DIDs directly in the browser, since the browser gets redirected to the DID's service endpoint URL via a 303
HTTP status code.
In order to support short URLs, the URL https://did.re/
can optionally be used in place of https://api.godiddy.com/1.0.0/universal-resolver/identifiers/
. This makes the DID-based redirect service also suitable for QR codes, deep links, and similar mechanisms.
